Get involved with HSBC Golf Roots in Cumbria
The Golf Foundation supports the Cumbria Golf Partnership with their 'HSBC Golf Roots' programmes. The Golf Foundation in Cumbria can support golf development within schools and the community. Through various initiatives such as Tri-Golf, Golf Xtreme and Street Golf, golf can be taken into non-traditional areas to allow the young people to experience golf for the first time in a fun and safe way. Following this positive experience, further opportunities are made available creating a player pathway into ‘real’ golf as we know it.
The pathway from school or community setting to the Golf Club or Driving Range can be supported by the Golf Foundation 'Junior Golf Passport'.
The Cumbria Golf Partnership is supported by the Golf Foundation, a charity, committed to the sporting and social development of young people through golf. This development offers not only a sport for life but also social development life skills such as honesty, respect, cooperation, self-motivation, communication and perseverance through the 'Skills for Life' message.

In Cumbria, support is available, through the Golf Foundations ‘HSBC Golf Roots’, programmes to schools, community groups, golf facilities, coaches or anything or anyone that can make a positive contribution in this area.

The main area of work is through the School Games network and School Sport Partnerships. Cumbria have 6 School Sport Partnership areas and the Golf Foundation can support you with advice, tools and funding to develop successful links to ‘Grow the Game’ of golf in Cumbria.
The main aim of the work within the schools and community is to offer young people the opportunity to try the sport for the first time whilst keeping that experience locally affordable and in line with the cost of other sports.
