Get into Golf

Last year Cumbria Golf Partnership launched a new initiative  called “Get into Golf” aimed at recruiting and retaining more adults into golf who are aged 16 years and over. The rationale behind this came from a national consultation and research project into age gaps within clubs memberships where on average there was a huge loss of members between the ages of 16-45.

This initiative had been designed to target beginner golfers or those returning to the game following absence through a 6 week coaching programme delivered at various golf clubs across the County.

To date (March 2012) more than 700 people have taken the opportunity to participate in these coaching sessions.  Throughout this season further projects will be run across the County.  For details please see the GiG events section of this website or alternatively log on to the Get into Golf website www.getintogolf.org or telephone 0800 118 2766.
